Three schools, 125 accomplished musicians, one superb concert.

MSC Choral and Instrumental Festivals

Dock hosts MSC Instrumental Festival

The two-day event culminates in a combined band and orchestra concert with 125 musicians on Saturday, March 6 at 6:00 p.m.

Dock Mennonite Academy will host the 2020 Mennonite Schools Council Instrumental Music Festival on March 5-6. The festival will combine orchestras and concert bands from three schools—Dock, Eastern Mennonite High School (Harrisonburg, VA), and Lancaster Mennonite High School (Lancaster, PA)—and feature 125 accomplished high school musicians. The ensembles will collaborate for two days of practice and then give a public concert on Friday, March 6, at 6:00 p.m. in Clemens Auditorium. Admission is free.

The festival orchestra will be conducted by Stan Yoder, whose 40-year career in music education included directing the orchestras at Dock and the former Penn View Christian School, and more recently as a director in the Perkiomen Valley School District music program. Adam Gumble, director of the West Chester University Marching Band, will guest conduct the concert band.

Please join us in supporting music education in our schools!
