Annual Fund Fall 2017

Gifts from God and others come in many forms including experiential gifts and material gifts. For hurricane survivors, a gift of water is life-giving and timely. For those who are sick or in the hospital, the presence of a caring loved one is treasured. In James 1:17, we read “Every good and perfect gift is from above….”

The most valuable gifts for children and young people come in the form of experiences rather than material gifts. Children need opportunities to learn in caring communities filled with positive role models and peers with similar value systems. Young adults blossom in schools that inspire and develop every part of who they are – academically, socially, and spiritually.

Dock parents understand this well. “The moment we stepped onto campus we were welcomed by smiling faces, loving hearts, and helping hands,” one parent writes. “Choosing Dock is the greatest gift we ever gave our family.” Another Dock parent articulated her thoughts this way: “Second to marrying my husband, the decision to send our girls to Dock was one of the best decisions of my life.”

Dock Mennonite Academy is committed to making it possible for local students to attend our school, regardless of family resources. In 2017-18, this means distributing over $1 million in financial aid to qualifying families based upon income and household size. We cannot meet this annual commitment without your assistance.

The gift of a Dock education may be the most precious gift you ever give! Please consider making a difference in the lives of children and young people by contributing to the Dock Fund. You will have the satisfaction of knowing that you helped students discover lives of purpose!
