Under the Sea - Kim Pavia, STEM Teacher; age 4-7; 8:30-11:30am - Dive into an underwater adventure! Campers will embark on an exciting journey to explore the mysteries of the ocean and its fascinating creatures. Through engaging, hands-on activities, little explorers will become marine biologists, creating adorable crab crafts, constructing sandcastles, and participating in fun water experiments.
The Enchanted Forest of Fairies & Gnomes - Michelle Lapp, Dock Staff; ages 4-7; 8:30-11:30am - Step into a magical world at "The Enchanted Forest of Fairies & Gnomes" summer camp, where little adventurers will build tiny fairy houses, craft sparkling wands, play forest games, sing enchanting songs, and explore nature's hidden wonders, becoming magical beings themselves for a week of imaginative fun, creativity, and woodland discovery.
Bug Explorers - Danielle Camasso, Dock Faculty; ages 4-7; 8:30-11:30am - Get ready for a buzzing good time, where tiny adventurers discover the amazing world of insects through hands-on fun like bug hunts, creative crafts (think painted ladybugs & butterfly wings!), and silly games, learning how important these critters are for our planet, with gentle exploration of gardens and maybe even flipping logs to find real-life beetles and ants (and putting them back gently!), making this a perfect, memorable summer for young nature lovers!
Hercules, Cinderella, and Dogman - Kipp Moyer, Past Dock Faculty; ages 8-12 ; 8:30am-3:30pm - Campers will take inspiration from Greek Mythology, Fairy tales, and current children’s literature to write their own stories. In the morning, campers will strengthen their writing muscle with a variety of prompts & quick writes, mini lessons on writing techniques and structured peer sharing. The afternoon time will give campers a chance for creative center time to develop dioramas, mood boards and much more. Start your brainstorming now.
Sweet Icing Creations - Ashley Lapp, Dock Alum; ages 8-14; 8:30-11:30am - The pastry chefs, AKA our campers, will spend their week working with icing. They will learn how to decorate cut-out sugar cookies and cupcakes using piping bags and various cake decorating supplies. Grab your apron, the kitchen is calling you.
Upward Flag Football and Adventure Games - Upward Camp Staff; ages 11-14; 8:30am-3:30pm - A half day of flag football and a half day of adventure games equals a full day of FUN! You may know Upward’s basketball and flag football leagues—now we invite you to join us for some fantastic Summer Camp fun! Our half day of flag football camp focuses on skill development, scrimmaging and game play. A half day of adventure games is the perfect complement—outdoor games like Capture the Flag, Manhunt, Mission Impossible, and water games as well as indoor options such as dodgeball, obstacle courses, laser tag, and more. We’ll also use our time this week to build character and help young campers make good decisions on and off the field—because Upward knows that life is more than a game. Campers should wear sneakers and bring a towel, water bottle and change of clothes. Campers should also bring a snack and pack a lunch Monday-Thursday—on Friday, a Chick-fil-A lunch will be provided!
Afternoon Adventures - Dock Camp Staff; ages 4-14; 11:30am-3:30pm - Each day will be a variety of activities, some of which may include - outdoor games, indoor games, crafts, computer time, reading/writing, and quiet time/recuperation time (after the sports camps). All campers should bring a water bottle, packed lunch, and afternoon snack. This camp is available only to those who are attending a morning camp during the week of July 27 - July 31.
