Spring 2018 Service Project

Family Fun Night

On April 4, the Dock community came together for an evening to raise awareness, and money, to assist our friends and neighbors in Puerto Rico who have suffered so much.

We exceeded our goal and raised more than

to help rebuild our sister school, Academia Menonita Betania

THANK YOU!

Still time to donate—send cash or check made payable to Dock Mennonite Academy (memo line: Puerto Rico relief) to the school office.

Read a first-hand account of what it was like to live through the terrible fury of Hurricane Maria, written by Academia Menonita Betania Superintendent Alex Gonzalez.

Many of us have connections with family and friends in Puerto Rico, including our sister school, Academia Menonita Betania. It is too easy to forget about disasters when the initial deluge of media attention ends, and the camera turns away to cover the next issue. This event was designed to help bring hope to our friends in Puerto Rico while building community here on our campus.

Our sincere hope and prayer is that this fun evening raised awareness for the situation in Puerto Rico. We certainly raised a good amount of money—over $10,000—to help those affected by this terrible storm. We are deeply grateful to every person who planned, participated, and gave to this all-school service project. Thank you!
