On August 17, the Dock Mennonite Academy baseball team will take the field at Citizens Bank Park—not to play, but to be recognized by the Philadelphia Phillies following one of the most memorable seasons in school history.

Fresh off a 2026 PIAA Class A State Championship, Dock players, coaches, families, alumni, and supporters will be honored during a Phillies game, celebrating a season that captured the attention of baseball fans across Pennsylvania.

A State Championship Built on More Than Talent

The Dock Pioneers earned the 2026 PIAA Class A State Championship through determination, teamwork, and exceptional play. The title added another chapter to one of the strongest baseball traditions among Christian schools in Pennsylvania. It also marked the fourth state championship in program history, tying Dock for the second-most PIAA Class A baseball titles among all schools across the Commonwealth.

Led by World Series Champion Erik Kratz

Now in his fourth season as Dock's varsity head baseball coach, Erik Kratz—a Dock alumnus and former Major League Baseball catcher—has helped guide the Pioneers to the 2026 PIAA Class A State Championship while continuing to invest in the program's long-term culture and development.

Following a professional career that included time with the Philadelphia Phillies and a World Series championship with the Kansas City Royals organization, Coach Kratz returned to Dock to lead the next generation of student-athletes.

For students, learning from a coach with Major League experience is a rare opportunity.

Coach Kratz understands both the game of baseball and the mission of Dock Mennonite Academy because he has lived both stories.
