Dock Mennonite Academy is celebrating an outstanding achievement by sophomore Stephen Archer, who earned two gold medals at the Track & Field State Championships on May 23, 2026, at Shippensburg University.
Competing in rainy conditions, Stephen delivered strong performances in both the para-ambulatory 100-meter and 200-meter races, showcasing determination, resilience, and athletic excellence on the state stage.

Stephen captured:
- 🥇 Gold Medal — 100m (14.56)
- 🥇 Gold Medal — 200m (29.89, Personal Record)
Last year, in his first season with Dock, Archer won both events at Districts, setting meet records with a PR of 14.24 in the 100m and a PR of 29.90 in the 200m.
In addition to his success in athletics, Stephen is also actively involved in the arts at Dock Mennonite Academy, reflecting the well-rounded student experience and commitment that characterize Dock students both on and off the field.

Dock Board of Trustees member Linda Longacre recently presented Stephen with a formal letter of recognition on behalf of the Board, celebrating not only his athletic accomplishments but also the character and perseverance behind them (photo below). The letter noted that “the journey to becoming a state champion requires far more than talent alone. It requires discipline, resilience, courage, and the willingness to continue striving toward excellence even when challenges arise.” The Board commended Stephen’s commitment to his sport and his ability to compete with “determination and humility” throughout the season.

“Stephen’s performance reflects not only his hard work and discipline, but also the perseverance and joy he brings to competition,” said Dock Athletic Director, Mr. Seth Frankenfield. “We are proud of the way he represented Dock Mennonite Academy.”
Dock Mennonite Academy celebrates Stephen’s accomplishment and the dedication of all student-athletes who competed throughout the season.
