What Dock's Senior Speeches Reveal About Today's Teens—and the Community That Shaped Them

We just wrapped up another round of Senior Speeches, one of the most meaningful traditions at Dock Mennonite Academy. After the first evening of speeches this year, Dr. Anabella Silvermoon, Dock's Spanish Department Chair, shared a reflection with faculty that started with a phrase many of us have heard before: "Kids these days." What followed was a powerful reminder that the stories our seniors share often reveal something far different than the stereotypes we hear about young people.

A Mission-Driven Campus Plan: Strengthening the Heart of Dock’s Campus

Beginning in the summer of 2026, Dock Mennonite Academy will begin construction on a new entrance and circulation improvement project connected to the Longacre Center at the high school campus, slated for completion in March 2027.

Dock Mennonite Academy Student Wins 1st Place at PJAS Regional Competition

Dock Mennonite Academy celebrates junior Eliza Qiu, who recently earned 1st place at the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science (PJAS) regional competition held at Souderton Area High School. By placing first at regionals, Eliza has qualified for the PJAS state competition at Penn State University in May.

Dock Mennonite Academy Student Accepted to NYU Tisch: Eric Kim’s Film Journey

When Eric (Dogyung) Kim, a student from South Korea, joined Dock Mennonite Academy in his sophomore year, he brought with him a curiosity about creativity and storytelling that would steadily grow into a clear artistic voice. That voice recently helped him earn acceptance to New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, one of the nation’s most prestigious film schools.
