New Students

Dock Welcomes New Students!

A number of activities are in place to help new students and their families with their transition to the Dock community.

New Student Social

In late summer, a New Student Social is planned by school staff and student leaders. The evening includes games, snacks and time to get to know new classmates and some returning students. Parents are also invited to spend time visiting with other new parents.

New Family Orientation

This is an evening event just before school begins in August to welcome new families to Dock Mennonite Academy. After some refreshments and a bit of school information, students and their parents have the opportunity to walk through the daily schedule, find classroom locations and lockers, and meet the teachers. Guidance staff is also available to meet you, answer questions, and make schedule adjustments.

All-School Orientation

All students spend time together shortly after school begins for a day of fun, fellowship, and learning. The orientation provides a time for students to become acquainted and also allows time for reflection and worship. Class business and important school information is covered during this time as the students are introduced in a more personal way to many of their teachers and advisors.

Back to School Night

During an evening in early September, all Dock parents are invited to visit campus to follow their child's schedule in a condensed version of the school day. Teachers provide information about their courses. Parents enjoy the opportunity to meet teachers, learn about classes, and get to know other parents.
