College Raptor is a college search tool that is offering a $2500 scholarship opportunity to help students take a thoughtful approach to the college decision process and pay for college. AES Engineers Scholarship - The consulting firm of AES Engineers is committed to continuing its support of higher education by providing scholarships to deserving students.  This award is available to all students, regardless of their field of study. To be eligible, the student needs to answer the essay questions found on our site at http://www.aesengineers.com/scholarships.htm. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of character, as determined by evaluating the essays that are submitted. Amount of award: $500.00. Deadline for entry: October 6, 2019 for 2019-20 scholarships.

Horatio Alger Association Scholarship – This scholarship seeks to assist students who have demonstrated integrity, perseverance in overcoming adversity, strength of character, financial need, and a good academic record, among other characteristics. Horatio Alger Career & Technical Scholarship – This scholarship seeks to assist students who have demonstrated integrity, perseverance in overcoming adversity, strength of character, financial need, commitment to pursue a career or technical certification/degree, and a desire to contribute to society. For more information and to apply online, visit https://application.horatioalger.org/. The application remains open on a rolling basis until all scholarships are awarded. The 2020 application opened on February 15 with the first priority deadline of April 15, 2020.

Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities.150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship. 2020 Prudential Spirit of Community Award – This award honors students for making meaningful contributions to their communities through volunteer service. Winners receive a $1000 scholarship and a trip to Washington, D.C. in May! Access the application at https://spirit.prudential.com/. Deadline to apply is November 5, 2019.

The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation's College Scholarship Program is an undergraduate scholarship program available to high-achieving high school seniors with financial need who seek to attend and graduate from the nation's best four-year colleges and universities. The Cooke Foundation College Scholarship Program application is available through the Common App. The deadline to apply is November 13, 2019.

Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program – Scholarships of $2500 will be awarded to over 800 students nationwide based on community service, academic performance, and leadership skills.  For more information, visit https://learnmore.scholarsapply.org/leadersandachievers. Applications must be submitted by 5:00 pm EST on December 6, 2019.

FIRE (Foundation for Individual Rights in Education) Free Speech Essay Contest – The mission of FIRE is to defend and sustain individual rights at America’s colleges and universities. The contest is open to juniors and seniors. Prizes range from $500 to $10,000. For more information, visit https://thefire.org/contest. Entries must be received by 11:59 EST on December 31, 2019.

Mensa Foundation Scholarship Program Essay Contest – More than $140,000 in assistance awarded each year to college-bound students around the globe. Scholarships are awarded based solely on a 550-word essay explaining your academic and professional goals and how your personal experiences will help you accomplish these goals. The Coolidge Scholarship – A full-ride scholarship that covers a student’s tuition, room, board, and expenses for four years of undergraduate study. Unlike other top scholarships, the Coolidge can be used by recipients at any accredited U.S. college or university. Any high school junior who plans to enroll in college in the fall of 2021 and is an American citizen or legal permanent resident is eligible to apply. MCC High School Essay and Video Contest - Calling all high school students! Mennonite Central Committee's annual essay contest is now open with an exciting change. In addition to essays, we are now accepting short (2-3 minute) videos as well. Prizes of $750 will be awarded for the top essay and the top video. Students are invited to examine one of these three topics: climate change, gun violence, or immigration. The Union Plus Scholarship Program offers scholarships to the children of current and retired members of participating unions. Applicants are evaluated according to academic ability, social awareness, financial need, and appreciation of labor. The application includes an essay, and a GPA of 3.0 or higher is recommended. EMU (Eastern Mennonite University) Departmental Scholarships – Scholarships up to $5,000 per year are available for incoming admitted students in specific academic and extracurricular programs. Each opportunity has a unique application process including an interview/audition with a faculty member. Students are strongly encouraged to attend Scholarship Day on February 1, 2020. The Rotary Clubs of District 7430 Four-Way Test Speech Contest. High school students, grades 9 through 12 are eligible to participate.  Each contestant chooses the topic of his/her speech. The purpose of the speech is to persuade others while applying the principles of the Rotary 4-Way Test. Local Rotary Club winners proceed to a regional contest on March 28, 2020 and those winners compete in the District final held at the District Annual Convention. Cash prizes are awarded at all levels. For more information and an application, stop by the Guidance Office. Applications will be due mid-February 2020.

National Co-op Scholarship Program – This scholarship program, sponsored by WACE, will award up to 160 merit scholarships to seniors and transfer students who plan to participate in college cooperative education at one of the participating WACE Partner Institutions. Stop by the Guidance Office for more information or visit http://www.waceinc.org. Application deadline is February 15, 2020.

Flavorful Futures Scholarship sponsored by Sparkling Ice® awards five $5000 scholarships to eligible high school students who are planning their bright and colorful futures. Candidates must be fun and unique students who are not afraid to be themselves. For more information and to apply, visit https://www.flavorfulfutures.com/. Application deadline is February 15, 2020.

National Society Daughters of the American Revolution All applicants must be citizens of the United States and must attend or plan to attend an accredited college or university in the United States.   For more information on specific scholarships, visit https://www.dar.org/national-society/scholarships/general-info. Scholarship applications must be emailed by February 15, 2020 at 12 midnight (EST).

Anne M. Vincent Scholarship – A$1000 - $5000 grant renewable up to five years. To qualify, students need to be worthy of financial assistance; of high scholastic standing and character, a resident of the surrounding Philadelphia area. North Penn Area Scholarship Fund Association (NPASFA) – Scholarships for students who live within the North Penn School District boundaries. Valley Forge Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Scholarship is available to minority students residing in Chester and Montgomery Counties. Applications are available at https://form.jotform.com/93147885676172 and must be received by March 1, 2020.

Gettysburg College First Annual Georges Lieber Essay Contest on Resistance – The Jewish Studies Committee is sponsoring an essay contest in memory of Georges Lieber, who was murdered by the Nazis for being part of the French resistance during World War II. All high school students are eligible. Prizes of up to $1000 will be given to the winners. In your essay, please articulate an issue on or of resistance that you have encountered in your life. Stop by the Guidance Office for more information. Essays must be submitted by March 1, 2020.

Herb it Forward Scholarship The Herb it Forward Foundation (HIFF) offers this renewable scholarship to students who, despite growing up in challenging environments, have an incredibly optimistic experience, a desire to help others, and a passion for giving back to their communities. Applicants must demonstrate a strong financial need and be planning to enroll in college or vocational/technical school. Apply online at https://www.herbie.com/hif-scholarship/#Apply. Rotary Club of Souderton-Telford Arts and Humanities Scholarship – This one-time monetary award of at least $2000 will be awarded to a graduating Dock or Souderton High School senior who has a focused interest in one of the following academic areas: Art, Journalism, Communications, World Language, English and Literature, or Social Studies; and plans to pursue college/university level study of in one of the fields listed above. Applications available in the Guidance Office. The deadline to apply is March 2, 2020.

Rotary Club of Souderton-Telford Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Scholarship – This one-time monetary award of $2,000 will be awarded to a senior who plans to study science, engineering, mathematics or technology at a 4-year college or university, and then pursue a career in a field that has a focus on one of these fields. Applications available in the Guidance Office. The deadline to apply is March 2, 2020.

Everence College Scholarship For the 2019-20 academic year, eligible students can be chosen to receive a $1000 scholarship from their local Everence office. Care & Share Thrift Shoppes Student Volunteer Scholarship - A $500 scholarship towards a college or other continuing education program after high school. You must have 75 or more documented hours from a registered 501c3 charity in a recent calendar year and reside in Bucks or Montgomery County. Applications and more information are available in the Guidance Office. The deadline to apply is March 15, 2020.

The Rose Foundation – The R.O.S.E Scholar Scholarship (Recognizing Opportunities for Service and Education) is awarded annually to an African American high school senior who attends school and resides in Bucks or Montgomery Counties, has maintained a 3.2 grade point average, and exemplifies exceptional community service involvement. AAUW Lansdale PA Branch Scholarship – Each year, the Lansdale branch of the AAUW (American Association of University Women) awards scholarships to graduating female high school seniors from local schools. These scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic achievement, as well as leadership and community and school involvement. Stop by the Guidance Office for more information and an application. Applications must be postmarked by April 3, 2020.

Cancer Support Community Teen Essay Contest – Has cancer affected your life? Tell us your story! The Cancer Support Community is holding its 8th annual Ben Strauss Youth Program Essay contests for teens to share their stories about how cancer has been in their lives. More information and entry forms are available here. Entries are due April 13, 2020.

Dunkin’ Donuts Philadelphia Regional Scholarship Program – Scholarship recipients will be selected on the basis of “well-rounded” character: positive academic record, demonstrated leadership, commitment to school and community activities, and experience in a work environment. Applicants must be seniors who plan to enroll in a part-time or full-time undergraduate program. Samuel A. Green Scholarship Program (SAG) – Firstrust Bank annually awards scholarships to aspiring, college-bound high school seniors in our community. This year’s winners will receive $3000 or $10,000. The SAG program was created in memory of their founder, who believed in the power of higher education and the right of all young people to pursue it. Vanessa L. Myers Women in STEM Alumnus Scholarship – Endowed by Vanessa L. Myers, this fund provides a $1000 scholarship to a female graduating senior of Dock Mennonite Academy who is entering a field related to Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM fields). PPL Electric Utilities Future Environmental Leaders Scholarship – This $2000 scholarship was established to give a helping hand to the next generation of students pursuing careers in the engineering and science fields that will benefit the natural world. It is available to high school seniors living in homes served by PPL in central and eastern Pennsylvania. The Travis W. Watkins Tax Resolution & Accounting Firm Scholarship is a one-time $1000 award for any current or soon-to-be student who has had his or her family’s life altered because of tax controversies (back taxes owed, audits, etc.). Applicants will be judged on their ability to convey the importance of tax compliance as well as the journey of those challenges. Pureland Supply / Projector Lamps – This local company based in Kennet Square offers two annual $1000 scholarships. The Pureland Supply Scholarship is open for students who have been accepted to an accredited community college, vocational college, technical school, or trade school. Daniel J. Reinford Scholarship - The Daniel J. Reinford Scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors who will be attending a Mennonite college or university. Travis Bechtel Memorial Scholarship - The Travis Bechtel Memorial Scholarship is sponsored by Baum, Smith & Clemens, LLP in memory of Travis Bechtel, a 1991 Dock graduate who passed away in June of 2002 from cancer. Travis worked at Baum, Smith & Clemens for six years. The courage and character Travis showed in dealing with his illness while continue to progress professionally and maintain friendships was an unforgettable inspiration to all the company's staff. This scholarship is awarded to a senior planning to major in business who excels in the three areas in which Travis had interest: academics, athletics, and business. Skippack Lions Club – Each year, the Skippack Lions Club provides scholarships to local high school graduates who show exceptional grades and demonstrate leadership qualities and a willingness to give back to their communities. Harleysville Rotary Club & Janke Family Scholarship – A $750 scholarship is awarded annually to a Dock senior, based on their essay of how the Four-Way Test of Rotary has impacted their life. The B. Davis Scholarship is an annual scholarship sponsored by Student Award Search Aid. This scholarship is available to all high school juniors and seniors, as well as all students currently registered in any post secondary institution. PB&J Scholarship – This scholarship awards $500 - $1000 to students who have experienced challenges in their life that may not have allowed them to perform well academically but still have the drive to succeed. Apply at http://bit.ly/pbjscholars2020 by May 31, 2020.

The Triple-Impact Competitor Scholarship is available for high school JUNIOR student athletes. You could win $500-$2000! Sponsored by the Positive Coaching Alliance, this scholarship asks student athletes to identify the way they work to improve themselves, their teammates, and the sport as a whole. The W. Gordon and Natalie E. Dunning Scholarship Fund was established to give financial assistance to students in Bucks and Montgomery Counties who are pursuing a degree in either education or medicine. Delaware Valley MEDA Scholarship Program – This scholarship is open to students who are active participants in a local church within the program’s constituent denominations who will be attending an Anabaptist school to pursue a degree in business/management. This award is made payable to the student’s college choice for their freshman year. It is based on financial need, student grade record, and con­tribution to campus life at Dock. The Discover Student Loans Scholarship Award Sweepstakes is giving away $5000 each month this year to eligible high school students! For more information and to enter, visit https://scholarship.collegecovered.com/. Sweepstakes run from February 1, 2020 through January 31, 2021

Pennsylvania American Legion Scholarships – The American Legion’s Commission on Children and Youth seeks to provide opportunities for young people to succeed. Visit http://pa-legion.com/programs/student-programs/ for a list of scholarships, contests, and camps offered through their student programs. Application deadlines vary by program/contest.

2020 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards Teens in grades 7-12 from public, private, or home schools can apply in 29 categories of art and writing for a chance to earn scholarships and have their works exhibited and published. The Montgomery-Bucks Family and Consumer Sciences Association is offering a college scholarship award of $500 to a high school senior who is sincerely interested in a career in Family and Consumer Sciences. Stop by the Guidance Office or see Mrs. Lambright for more information. Due to Covid-19 and closures of high schools, this year's scholarship will not be given out.

Maurice Neinken Scholarship Fund – Scholarships to students with financial needs whose families have a historical connection to the garment manufacturing industry in Upper Bucks or Eastern Montgomery County – primarily the Quakertown, Pennridge, Palisades, and Souderton School District regions. Students should apply through their school guidance departments or call the Foundation at 215-997-8566 for an application.
