Souderton-Telford Rotary Foundation - Business, Arts and Humanities Scholarship - This scholarship is in offered in memory of former Souderton-Telford Rotary Club President Barbara McClennen. The Souderton-Telford Rotary Club Business, Arts and Humanities Scholarship is a one-time monetary award of $2000. Graduating seniors at Dock Mennonite Academy High School are eligible to apply.  Interested applicants should complete this application and return to their high school guidance office by Monday, March 25, 2024.

 

Souderton-Telford Rotary Foundation - Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Scholarship - The Souderton Telford Rotary Foundation Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Scholarship (STEM) for 2024 is a one-time monetary award of $2000. It will be awarded to a graduating senior at Dock Mennonite Academy High School who plans to study science, engineering, mathematics or technology at a four-year college or university and then pursue a career in a field that has a focus on science, engineering, mathematics or technology. Interested 2024 graduating seniors should complete this application noting the applicant’s required qualification, and return to the applicant’s high school guidance office by Monday, March 25, 2024.

 

The Doris S. Heilemann Scholarship is offered to a Dock student pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing or the equivalent. This is a needs-based, four-year scholarship. A typical recipient may receive between $10,000 and $15,000 per year for tuition, totaling between $40,000 and $60,000 over a four-year period. Vanessa Myers STEM Scholarship - Endowed by Vanessa L. Myers, this find provides a $1,000 scholarship to a female graduating senior of Dock Mennonite Academy who is entering a field related to Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM fields). While women represent 48% of the American workforce, they make up only approximately 13% of engineering professionals. Overall, women are critically underrepresented in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). As a mechanical engineer, Vanessa L. (Moyer) Myers knows firsthand the remarkable impact, as well as challenges, that women have in fields related to STEM. An alumnus of Christopher Dock Mennonite High School, she wants to support other women pursuing their dreams in the scientific world, which is why she is introducing a scholarship designed to encourage and support women that are studying to be forthcoming leaders influencing the future of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).  Contact the guidance office for an application. The Officer William Chapman Memorial Scholarship – Since 2006, The Officer William J. Chapman Memorial Scholarship has honored a colleague of the Hatfield Township Police Department by financially assisting graduating high school seniors with the next level of their educational goals. Four $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to qualifying applicants seeking a degree in a public service-oriented field, such as criminal justice, law, education, social work, or medicine. The R.O.S.E (Recognizing Opportunities for Service and Education) Scholar Scholarship – The R.O.S.E. Foundation Scholar Scholarship is awarded to a student who is a graduating high school senior with a minimum 3.2 grade point average, on a 4.0 scale. The applicant must exemplify exceptional community service involvement and reside in and attend school in Bucks or Montgomery Counties. Care & Share Thrift Shoppes Student Volunteer Scholarship. Three $500 scholarships are awarded to qualifying high school seniors who has 75 or more documented hours from a registered 501c3 charity in a recent calendar year, plan to continue their education after high school, and reside in Bucks or Montgomery County. Gettysburg College Third Annual Georges Lieber Essay Contest on Resistance – The Jewish Studies Committee sponsors an essay contest in memory of Georges Lieber, who was murdered by the Nazis for being part of the French resistance during World War II. All high school students are eligible. Prizes of up to $1,000 will be given to the winners. In your essay, please articulate an issue on or of resistance that you have encountered in your life. The Travis Bechtel Memorial Scholarship – The Travis Bechtel Memorial Scholarship is sponsored by Baum, Smith & Clemens, LLP in memory of Travis Bechtel, a 1991 Dock graduate who passed away in June 2002 from cancer. Travis worked at Baum, Smith & Clemens for 6 years. The courage & character Travis showed in dealing with his illness while continuing to progress professionally and maintain friendships was an unforgettable inspiration to all the company’s staff. This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a senior planning to major in business who excels in the three areas in which Travis had interest: academics, athletics, and business. The Daniel J. Reinford Scholarship – The Daniel J. Reinford Scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors who will be attending a Mennonite college or university. It is based on financial need, grades, and contribution to campus life. Contact the guidance office for an application. The deadline for the scholarship application is May 15, 2024.

 

The Ruth Boland Memorial Nursing Scholarship presented by The Village Improvement Association of Doylestown (VIA) is a $2,500 scholarship awarded to a high school senior who has been accepted into a nursing degree program. Applicants must reside in the Central Bucks School District geographical area. The application includes an essay, a letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor, official transcript, senior grades/high school GPA, and SAT/ACT scores. AES Engineers Scholarship - The consulting firm of AES Engineers is committed to continuing its support of higher education by providing scholarships to deserving students. This award is available to all students, regardless of their field of study. To be eligible, the student needs to answer the essay questions found on our site at http://www.aesengineers.com/scholarships.htm. The scholarship will be awarded based on character, as determined by evaluating the essays that are submitted. Amount of award: $500.00. The deadline for entry is October 8, 2023.

 

Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. 150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship. Appelley Publishing Student Poetry Contest – Students in all grades are eligible to win! A $500 First Place Prize is awarded in each grade division (3-5, 6-8, 9-12). Mail-in applications are available in the Guidance Office. The mailing deadline is November 17, 2023. Online entries may be submitted through November 22, 2023, at www.appelley.org.

 

W. Gordon and Natalie E. Dunning Scholarship – The W. Gordon and Natalie E. Dunning Scholarship was established to give financial assistance to undergraduate students in Bucks and Montgomery County, PA who are pursuing degrees in either education or medicine. The National Honor Society Scholarship is available for senior NHS members in good standing. A total of 600 scholarships will be awarded this year, including the top scholarship of $25,000! GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program – High school seniors nationwide who demonstrate leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship are invited to apply. This program annually provides college-bound students with $10,000 renewable scholarships – up to $40,000 total. Mensa Foundation Scholarship Program Essay Contest – More than $140,000 in assistance awarded each year to college-bound students around the globe. The Visionaries of Tomorrow ScholarshipThe Visionaries of Tomorrow Scholarship aims to recognize and support exceptional students who demonstrate academic excellence and creativity. This scholarship program awards $1,000 each quarter (Stage I-IV) to students working on an innovative project that will positively impact society (i.e., developing an app, building a robot, creating a website, etc.). The Union Plus Scholarship Program offers scholarships to the children of current and retired members of participating unions. Applicants are evaluated according to academic ability, social awareness, financial need, and appreciation of labor. The application includes an essay, and a GPA of 3.0 or higher is recommended. National Federation of Press Women (NFPW) High School Journalism Contest is a two- tiered contest for Pennsylvania high school students, with first-place winners moving on to competition at the national level. Entries must have been professional published/produced by a school or professional publication in a recognized medium for the category. MCC High School Essay and Video Contest - Calling all high school students! Mennonite Central Committee's annual essay and video contest is now open. Prizes of $250 will be awarded for the top essay and the top video. Students are invited to examine one of these three topics: climate change, immigration, or selective service. The Coolidge Scholarship – A full-ride scholarship that covers a student’s tuition, room, board, and expenses for four years of undergraduate study. Unlike other top scholarships, the Coolidge can be used by recipients at any accredited U.S. college or university. Any high school junior who plans to enroll in college in the fall of 2024 and is an American citizen or legal permanent resident is eligible to apply. Anna M. Vincent Scholarship – A $1000 - $5000 grant renewable up to five years. To qualify, students need to be worthy of financial assistance; of high scholastic standing and character, a resident of the surrounding Philadelphia area. Samuel A. Green Scholarship Program (SAG) – Firstrust Bank annually awards scholarships to aspiring, college-bound high school seniors in our community. This year’s winners will receive between $2,500 and $10,000. The SAG program was created in memory of their founder, who believed in the power of higher education and the right of all young people to pursue it. Pennsylvania American Legion Scholarships – The American Legion’s Commission on Children and Youth seeks to provide opportunities for young people to succeed. Maurice Neinken Scholarship Fund – Scholarships to students with financial needs whose families have a historical connection to the garment manufacturing industry in Upper Bucks or Eastern Montgomery County – primarily the Quakertown, Pennridge, Palisades, and Souderton School District regions. Students should apply through their school guidance departments or call the Foundation at 215-997-8566 for an application. There is a rolling deadline for this scholarship.

 

PA Media & Design Competition - This annual event highlights Pennsylvania school students' application skills and computer knowledge. Students can unleash their creativity, learn how to convey information more dynamically, and enhance the learning process. The competition is open to all students in grades 9-12. The United Steel Workers Hugh Carcella Scholarship – ($1,000 per year) Applicants must be the son, daughter, or legal ward of a member of the United Steelworkers, District 10 (Eastern) in good standing with the Local Union participating in the Scholarship Program; or the son, daughter, or legal ward of a disabled, old age retiree, or deceased member of an affiliated local union who was in good standing with the United Steelworkers at the time of their retirement. See your local Union for deadlines and more information. 

 

 B. Davis Scholarship - This Scholarship is available to all high school juniors and seniors. To apply for this scholarship, you will need to write an essay of less than 1000 words on the topic below: Describe the three characteristics of leadership you value most.  Discuss why you believe that these traits are so important and how you feel that they are developed in an individual. The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship. The scholarship provides students attending a public, private, charter, magnet or STEM high school with the opportunity to graduate college debt-free.
